Detroit East Community Mental Health Center has been serving children, youth, and adults who have severe and persistent mental illness and substance abuse problems since 1973. Our goal is to work with the consumer (client) to achieve the best possible recovery. Most easily accessible to Detroit’s east side, the agency’s services are available to all residents of Wayne County and beyond.
Our staff is well-trained, highly qualified, and very compassionate. We work with our consumers and their families to promote mental well being, recovery, and to prevent hospitalization. We offer a comprehensive array of services designed to help with the complete needs of the consumer including

A private non-profit agency, we are a member of Gateway Community Health MCPN (managed care provider network) and are partially funded by the Detroit-Wayne County Community Mental Health Agency. Detroit East, Inc. is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and is licensed for substance abuse services by the State of Michigan.
